The Anapilis sports club was founded by Pranas Vilkelis in 2000. Although there already exist Lithuanian sports clubs in Toronto, there was felt a need for a sports club in Mississauga which would put the emphasis on participation rather than winning at all costs. It is meant for youngsters who want to be free to pursue other interests as well as sports. The sports chosen were: basketball, volleyball, table tennis and chess. The sports club uses the Anapilis facilities for practices on Monday and Wednesday evenings. All youth of Lithuanian descent, 6 years of age and over are welcome to join.
